Galant

An ultra-hard black gabbro with a black-green base tone that, under direct light, acquires a deep turquoise lustre — an optical effect arising from the rock’s unique mineralogical composition. Galant is the deepest, darkest material in the catalogue: black, yet not lifeless. The turquoise-green shimmer that emerges at an angle under sufficient light recalls the optical effect of schiller or fine jade — subtle, unexpected and extraordinarily expressive.

On the polished surface, Galant displays one of the most brilliant mirror effects of any dark stone: the black tone becomes liquid and profound, and any light source is reflected in the surface with crystalline clarity. This depth is particularly prized in memorial work: polished black monuments in Galant read as weighty and solemn. In flamed execution, the matte dark-grey surface with its greenish undertone assumes a severe, minimalist character — ideal for contemporary façades and landscape objects.

Density 2,950 kg/m³ — the highest in the catalogue — water absorption 0.11 %, compressive strength 280 MPa. An exceptional flexural strength of 50 MPa far exceeds the equivalent figure of most granites. Indispensable for monumental memorials, heavily trafficked paving and prestigious architectural projects.
